Mithrandir as a company

Mithrandir, a family business, was incorporated in 1985.

Software

 Its software activities began with the development of the first counselling oriented careers package, NowPlus.
This program was developed for the Apple IIe and, unfortunately, died with the Apple IIe and the failure of Apple to provide an open programming environment for the Macintosh.

Mithrandir developed a prototype package for on-line data collection - The Data Collector. This became caught in the move from DOS to Windows. It forms the basis for alpha-DA.

The company also developed support packages for career development activities in an Australian Government Department during the late 1980s and data collection software for the VocEdII project in Indonesia.

Mithrandir pioneered the development of on-line counselling services with it careers counselling service www.careers that began in 1996.

Unfortunately, the service was about 4 years too early, and was allowed to die in 1999.

The current site for Lace Resources International is a clear innovator in providing a unique e-learning resource.

Consulting

The company has been engaged in various consulting tasks that included the developement of a careers guidance system for the technical schools of the Republic of Indonesia in 1992-1994.

It provided technical support consulting to CFI Australia in its development and analysis of customer satisfaction measures.
